During this volunteer event/workshop, participants will get hands-on experience working on an urban farm while they learn about regenerative farms systems, value added product, composting, and community partnerships.

New Ground Grower Series: Volunteer Morning with Bellevue Farms
Over the course of the morning participants will go on a tour of the farm to see the variety of strategies Bellevue Farms uses to create a thriving green space before getting their hands dirty and tackling some projects around the farm. 2025 Urban Ag Session
The Delaware Urban Farm and Food Coalition (DEUFFC) invites you to join us for a Delaware Agriculture Week event. This event will focus on showcasing local projects that utilize urban agriculture to help them achieve a variety of health and wellness goals. Arrive as early as 5:00 pm to network with community members, and to learn more about the work of the DEUFFC and how to get involved. Partnering organizations will host displays and refreshments will be provided. Formal program begins at 6:00pm.

Join us for our first field day at Conscious Connections, Inc. Urban Farm (CCI) located at 22 E. 23rd Street in Wilmington! Over the course of the morning, participants will go on a tour of the farm to see the variety of growing methods and strategies CCI uses to create a thriving green space in the middle of Wilmington.

Seed Starter Workshop
Join the Delaware Master Gardeners and Food Bank of Delaware agriculture team and learn how you can start your very own summer vegetables! Learn how to start and care for seedlings and create a greenhouse-like environment in your home using easy-to-source, inexpensive items. We will use the greenhouse at the Food Bank Farm to sow seeds that you will be able to take home or continue to grow in the greenhouse for later pickup. Plant material will be provided, but we encourage you to bring any favorite seeds. Class size is limited to 15.
Cost: $15, $20 or $25 (based on what you can pay/offer)

Arrival Instructions: Park in the main Food Bank lot and walk towards the farm with the greenhouses. Check-in with staff by the red barn.

2024 NGGS Program Orientation
After introductions, we will be covering the details of the program more in depth and answer any logistical questions from course participants. Afterward, we’ll hear from members of our New Ground Growers team about the different types of urban/community farms and gardens and the role these projects play in the larger food system.
