New Ground Grower Series: Produce Safety Workshop with Chesapeake Produce Safety Education Project

  • Bright Spot Farms 1901 North Dupont Highway New Castle, DE, 19720 United States (map)

As part of the New Ground Growers training series join us at Bright Spot Farms for a “Produce Safety Workshop” with Chesapeake Produce Safety Education Team on July 20th, 9am -12pm.

Participants will learn what produce safety looks like on a small scale farm. The CAIC team will break down a produce safety risk assessment into practical terms and talk about practical ways to implement produce safety on your farm to strengthen your farm or garden with the goal of becoming more efficient and productive! The themes that we will cover in this workshop will be:

·                 Land use, animals, and soil amendments

·                 Worker Training, Health and Hygiene

·                 Agricultural water

·                 Cleaning and sanitation

·                 Post harvest handling

This will be a hands-on workshop with an overview of topics and a walk through of the farm to see each theme highlighted. There will be plenty of time to answer questions specific to your operation. You can always reach out to them on caic.org/food-safety or directly aleya@caic.org to schedule a call with our team to hear more about our coaching and educational services! This program is FREE and open to anyone to attend.

Registration is REQUIRED for all events, even for those who are not seeking course credit. To register and learn more about the New Ground Grower Series visit our webpage
