Please join members of the Delaware Council on Farm and Food Policy for the 2022 Farm & Food Planning and Networking Seminar to be held at the Delaware Department of Agriculture on September 27th, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
This year’s event will be hosted in-person, with a virtual option available, and will include panel discussions, breakout sessions, guest speakers, project updates, and open conversation. During the full-day Seminar, Council members, key partners, and guests will build on the theme – Delaware’s food supply chain and the interconnection of each sector.
Across the state farmers, retailers, food pantries, institutions, and other food industry stakeholders play a critical role in Delaware’s food system. We will explore the latest topics, challenges, and ideas from each of the following sectors:
Charitable Food System (food pantries and food banks)
Food Retail (including restaurants)
Food production and farming
Food transportation and distribution
Food waste and recycling
The seminar will conclude with a Focus Group exercise to learn more about 1) the food needs of institutions and other market outlets and how to fill demand with local product and 2) the needs of food producers and farmers to improve direct-to-market opportunities in their local communities. Lunch is sponsored by ShopRite, Wakefern Food Corp Inc.
