2023 Urban Ag Session

Kendra Hoffman owns and operates LadyBug EarthCare offering ecological design and habitat stewardship guidance to local landowners, renters, caregivers and communities. Her mission is to empower humans to reconnect with Nature and each other to heal the world one multi-species relationship at a time. Founded in the capital city of Harrisburg PA, this local small business focuses on place-based, trauma-informed, women-led initiatives. Urban gardens, wildlife corridors and multifunctional buffers are all strategic and mutually beneficial aspects of this work. Her projects actively regenerate placemaking in communities, restore habitat for wildlife, convert lawns and neglected lots into pollinator gardens, and create natural rainwater management systems in her local watersheds and beyond, to protect the Chesapeake Bay. If there’s ever free time, Kendra is eager to jump in a canoe, forage for wild edibles, cook over a campfire, mix medicinal cocktails and create grazing tables for friends with local food and flowers.

EarthCare for Urban Communities and Shared Places with Kendra Hoffman, LadyBug EarthCare

Thursday, January 12, 6-8 pm via Zoom

REGISTER NOW!

How we interact with the land matters, especially in urban environments where green spaces are precious. Join Kendra Hoffman, owner and operator of LadyBug EarthCare, to learn how ethical ecological actions on a small scale make a huge impact for Earth, the Places we call home, and ourselves.

In this keynote presentation, we will discuss:

  • What is EarthCare, where do we practice it, and why does it matter?

  • How to grow a deeper connection with Earth through simple, actionable practices.

  • How to stack functions and serve multiple ecological benefits in one small space.

  • Ways to garden for pollinators + support wildlife safely in urban environments.

This session will leave you feeling inspired by the possibilities for EarthCare as it relates to urban agriculture, and empowered to take small steps that add up to meaningful action for Earth - right in your own backyard and shared community spaces.
